International triennial Jablonec 2008

Museum of glass and bijouterie has been preparing the event “International triennial Jablonec 2008”. We will actively participate in it as well. The exhibition and the fashion show “Clothes and their accessories” will be the part of Triennial and will be organised by fashion designers and producers of bijouterie. Our traditional fashion designer Helena Fejková will use our bijouterie. Our last mutual co-operation was the beads and bijouterie for Trendy 2007, fashion show. Moore...

Organized by the Museum of Glass and Fashion Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou, together with the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the city of Jablonec nad Nisou and the Jablonec Eurocentre, the event will take place from June to September 2008. The Triennial loosely continues both the International Exhibitions of Glass and Fashion Jewellery held at the Jablonec exhibition grounds in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and the ‘Clothes and Accessories’ exhibition staged by the museum in its exhibition halls in 1998, 2000 and 2005.

„ The most important events should be the exhibition Clothes and its accessories and the International jeweller’s symposium followed by the exposition of its results. We have also been preparing the exhibition of the world jewellers made from the local provenience beads by well-known artists and designers. The exhibition will be placed in the main building of the Museum. The art schools will introduce the works of their students in Belveder Gallery; Bead Market is being prepared for summer “said the director of Museum, Mrs.Jaroslava Slabá about the grand plans that should bring back the glory of jeweller’s and bijouterie centre to Jablonec. Workshops and special conferences will also be the part of the Triennial. “Eurocentrum will house the culture programme, show of bijouterie crafts and the selling exhibition of bijouterie, fashion clothes and fashion accessories. In addition to emphasize the tradition of the Czech design, fashion, and to present the culture heritage of our region the main task of the project is to strengthen the glass and bijouterie production.”
“We consider the interconnection among the traditional lines of the local industry – bijouterie, glass and textile production, and the research and progress as very important.  Very important aspect is also to plug in the students of the art and glass colleges to the process of fashion creation”, explained the main significance of the events the Director of the Museum.
